Solea Sleep Snoring Treatment in Dripping Springs, TX

Snoring often comes from the soft palate, the tissue at the back of the roof of your mouth, vibrating as you breathe in your sleep. Solea Sleep is a laser treatment aimed at that tissue, done in the office without surgery. Dr. Reddy offers it in Dripping Springs, after first finding out what is behind your snoring.

What is Solea Sleep?

Solea Sleep uses the Solea dental laser to tighten the soft palate. Looser palate tissue vibrates more as air passes over it, and that vibration is the sound of snoring. Tightening the tissue is designed to reduce it. The treatment is done in the office and is designed to be quick, with no shots, no numbing, and minimal discomfort.

Solea Sleep is for snoring. It does not treat sleep apnea, which a physician diagnoses and which we do not diagnose. If your screening points that way, we coordinate with your doctor first.

Who it may help

  • You snore, or a partner loses sleep because you do
  • The snoring seems to come from the soft palate rather than from the nose or the tongue
  • You want a treatment that avoids surgery
  • You want to try a gentler option before a more involved one

Why Solea Sleep is different at Forest Springs Dentistry

The cause comes first

A laser only helps if the soft palate is the problem. We screen your airway first, so you are not treated for snoring that is coming from somewhere else. See snoring and airway care.

One option among several

Depending on what the screening shows, other steps may fit better or come first, such as tongue-tie release or palatal expansion. We tell you plainly which.

Coordinated with your physician

Snoring and sleep apnea can look alike. We work with your doctor so nothing serious is missed.

The same laser, used gently

Solea is the laser Dr. Reddy already uses for fillings and soft-tissue care, so you are in familiar hands.

Frequently asked questions about Solea Sleep

Does Solea Sleep treat sleep apnea?

No. It is for snoring. Sleep apnea is diagnosed by a physician, and if we suspect it we send you to your doctor and coordinate your care.

Does it hurt?

It is designed to cause minimal discomfort, with no shots and no numbing. We explain what to expect before we begin.

How long does it take?

The treatment itself is designed to take as little as 15 minutes. Most patients need two to three visits in total. Your first visit also includes the airway screening that shows whether it is likely to help.

Will it stop my snoring?

We can’t promise that. Results vary from person to person, and snoring has several causes. The screening tells us whether the soft palate is likely to be one, and we say so plainly if a different approach fits you better.

I use a CPAP or oral appliance. Can I still be treated?

Yes. Let us know what you use, and we will talk it through with you and your doctor. We will not change anything your physician has prescribed.
